Lately

Last weekend Coley and I went up to Pinetop to be a part of a small vintage market.

Adam is out of town this weekend, so it's been just us girls keeping busy. We met up with Megan and Henry for coffee and a walk.  Last night we went to Mellow Mushroom and rented a movie with Amy. Today we went to Josh & Christa's house-warming party, and tomorrow we're hanging out with Theresa.  I'm back to work on Monday alreadyyy.  Ivy has started adding B's to her babbling and has gotten so good at pulling herself up on her own.

No hands!

8 Months Old

Ivy at 8 months is sooo fun!  She makes the best facial expressions and just eats up any attention.  She has two teeth coming in on the top.  She is a master crawler and loves following us into whatever room we go in and also exploring the house on her own.  She says 'dada' all the time and what sounds like 'hi dad'.  She loves climbing and standing up with help.  She sometimes takes steps while we hold her hands.  She waves 'hi' and is starting to understand some basic signs.

Ivy does a big cheesy grin when she sees the camera, such a happy girl :-)

Red Rock Crossing

Last weekend we had a lot of fun in Sedona.  We missed Adam so much while we were in the midwest so it was great to get out of the Phoenix heat and spend some family time together. Our lunch at The Hideaway was sooo yummy, and we did a new hike, Red Rock Crossing.  This was the first time we took Ivy in a hiking backpack, so we wanted pretty smooth terrain; no climbing.  It was beautiful and the perfect hike to do with baby in tow.

Summer in the Mitten

Oh how I missed Michigan.  Ivy and I were able to spend 2 1/2 weeks in the U.P. with friends and family.  There is nothing quite like a northern Michigan summer.  Kid Rock did write a whole song about it...  "Splashing through the sand bar, talking by the campfire, It's the simple things in life like when and where... Catching Walleye from the dock, Watching the waves roll off the rocks shall forever hold a spot inside my soul."
